Casting Crowns and MercyMe headline HG '08

Discount tickets available for a limited time

WINSTED, MN --- Higher Ground, one of the fastest-growing Christian music festivals in the Upper Midwest, announces Casting Crowns and MercyMe as the headliners for this year's event. Casting Crowns, a band that garnered three Grammy nominations last year, will be among the 20 artists performing at the Aug. 15-16 outdoor concert in Winsted. MercyMe, another crowd favorite, returns to close out the event Saturday night.

Casting Crowns won a 2007 American Music Award and a 2006 Grammy for their album Lifesong. The band has been the most-played artist on all Christian radio formats combined and has sold more than three million albums to date. MercyMe released their latest album in November, titled All That is Within Me. Other artists slated to perform include Big Daddy Weave and Santcus Real, along with many others. New and emerging artists will perform throughout the weekend.

Higher Ground, now in its fourth year, has enjoyed double-digit growth since its inception. "The word is getting out about Higher Ground," said Chairman Terry Fasching. "People enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and small town hospitality. The campers love the scenery and the reserved sites, our camping growth has been fantastic."

Early discount tickets are available now.

Thanks for a Great HG†2007!

Third Day, Mark Schultz, Go Fish, Build 429, Superchic[k], Denver & the MHO, Chris Rice ... and may more! Get all the details here!Another memorable weekend out at Higher Ground this year - for many reasons. From perfect festival weather on Friday, to feeling pretty soggy on Saturday, the artists and staff put on a terrific event. Third Day's stage show was an incredible end to a fabulous day Friday. Check out the photos.

Although rainy, lightning held off on Saturday and all the national artists got to perform. The hearty fans who stayed through Mark Schultz's performance, were rewarded with an impromptu high-five and handshake session near the stage after his set. The rain was truly bittersweet. While two great days of weather would have been awesome, the rains were answered prayers for the soils and crops in our area.

Higher Ground's committee thanks each volunteer, sponsor, artist and ticket-buyer for their role in making HG 2007 an amazing experience. We hope the festival brought you closer to those you love and closer to God. We look forward to seeing you all next year!
